The award was presented by Barbara Walker, President of Big I Michigan, who highlighted McBride’s dedication to supporting independent agents across the state and his impact on Michigan’s insurance community.

With more than 35 years in insurance and risk management, McBride has played a Role in shaping the independent agency system in Michigan through leadership positions such as:
- Big I Michigan President (2016–2017) – Led initiatives to strengthen member services.
- Agents Assistance Corporation, Past Chairman – Supported Michigan independent agents.
- Chair, Big I Michigan CEO Search Committee – Led efforts to identify new leadership.
- MSI Chair (2018) – Focused on enhancing member services.
- Big I Michigan Finance Committee Member (2019–Present), Chair (2021–2024) – Helped guide financial planning and resource allocation.
